journey gig poster

As an homage to my mom’s favorite band, I created a gig poster for Journey using a limited color palette and color separations.

Journey’s song “Who’s Cryin’ Now” is my personal favorite of their songs. Looking at the lyrics, there are a lot of words synonymous with heat. I then thought of heat signature cameras, which display temperature with a limited color palette.

After evaluating the lyrics and collecting reference images, I designed a poster that evokes the melancholic yet passionate essence of the song.
